Vanilla Doughnuts

These donuts are a bliss and perfect addition as a dessert after a meal. A simple to prepare recipe, it offers a good combination of vanilla and soft baked flour. 

Preparation time: 15 minutes
Cooking time: 10-15 minutes
Servings: 6

1 cup of whole wheat white flour
1/4th cup of sugar/sweetner/honey
1 teaspoon of baking powder
1/4th teaspoon of ground cinnamon
1 large egg
1/4th cup of plain fat free Greek yogurt
2 tablespoons of fat free milk
1 ½ tablespoons of soft butter
1 tablespoon of vanilla bean paste
½ cup of powdered sugar
1 tablespoon of fat free milk
½ tablespoon of vanilla bean paste

  1. Preheat the microwave over to 325 F. 
  2. Spray non stick spray onto the donut pan. 
  3. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder and cinnamon in a large bowl. Blend thoroughly and keep aside. 
  4. In another medium bowl, whisk egg, yogurt, fat free milk, butter and vanilla bean paste. 
  5. Add the vanilla paste wet mixture to the dry flour mixture and mix well. Everything should be combined completely. 
  6. Using a pipe or spoon, spread the mixture in the donut pan. You can make any shape. 
  7. Place the donut pan in the oven and bake for 15 minutes or until the donuts are turning golden color. 
  8. In a small bowl, whisk powdered sugar, fat free  milk and vanilla bean paste to prepare vanilla glaze. 
  9. Remove the donut pan from the oven and allow it to cool at room temperature. 
  10. Dip one side of the donut into the vanilla glaze and serve fresh.
